So, what’s the bright side of bad weather you might ask? Well, it’s obviously going to Krka national park. That’s exactly what my next destination was. But before I got there, I took a small detour north towards Rama lake. A huge lake with the peninsula Šćit in the middle, featuring a monastery.

The road towards Tomislavgrad then led me into a huge highland featuring very broad flats in low temperatures. In the middle there was a road which would make even the Americans envious. The temperatures dropped down to a chilly 9°C, but I endured it in my jacket. The highlands were replaced by a valley. I joined the highway towards Skradin and it started to pour again.
I arrived in the village as if nothing ever happened. Blue skies and 16°C. I checked in to the hotel and took the 16:00 boat to the Krka national park. I knew the park was beautiful, but all the rainfall completely transformed how it looked. A lot of the paths were flooded and the waterfalls were a lot wider than they normally are. But I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves…

There is a noticeable lack of of safety buoys. It almost seems as if someone fell into the water he’d be pretty much dead already…

After the park I went to the top rated Restaurant in the town to spend the rest of my Kuna. I enjoyed octopus salad, scorpion fish and a local cake for dessert. All of this accompanied by a local red wine and some coffee. A well deserved rating for the restaurant and a good way to finish an astonishing beautiful day, in spite of the bad weather.
