… more rain, that is. I even had to use the handle heaters today. It was 14°C, raining quite heavily and there was a storm over most of Croatia. The gusts were preventing me from driving more than about 60km/h for most of my way. Luckily it opened up a bit when I arrived at the ferry port, so I was able to take a few pictures without worrying my new phone would have to learn to swim.

The ferry ride itself was a bit bumpy and very windy. I made a time lapse of the whole ride, but it turned out to not be worth of the upload time. After we arrived in Drvenik it was switching between 15 minutes of rain followed by 10 minutes of not-quite-raining-but-still-pretty-close. It was all pretty nice and more of the same adriatic coast I’ve been driving along for the past two days.
On the route towards Dubrovnik there is a short 10km road through the city of Neum, which lies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since the waiting time at the border crossing can be very long (into the hours), I even contemplated taking the ferry route around it or one of the mountain border crossings instead of the main one. I’m very glad I did not do that, since in total I spent less than 5 minutes waiting at both borders. Let’s just hope this doesn’t change too much the next time I go over that same border…

I arrived in Dubrovnik and started looking for a suitable hotel. After having bad luck in two hotels (one was way more expensive than advertised on Google, the other one I couldn’t even find), I ended up at Rooms4U, which is an absolutely awesome room for only 60€ per night. I’ll have to go to a restaurant close by for breakfast, but that’s totally fine for that price here in Dubrovnik.

I took a quick shower and went to take the bus to the old town. Even though the city looks very nice in rain, I hope that I can actually take some pictures while it’s dry tomorrow. I’m hopeful, but not optimistic. But since night photos look better in rain anyways, I’ll take it for one night…
